And now for a foul-mouthed video by the John Oliver of Internet Accessibility

So there is this thing that internet types call accessibilty, in case you have not heard of it.

What, pray tell, is that?

Well:

the design of products, devices, services, or environments so as to be usable by people with disabilities

I’m not sure that’s the best definition; accessibility isn’t just about disabilities. It’s about creating internet stuff that’s truly flexible. We all access the internet in different ways, depending on what is going on in our worlds. Anyway, :soap::mega:.

There is a lot of jargon thrown around in this video, but if it’s unfamiliar, at least it’s pretty funny. And the graphic design is nice.

And there are unnecessary goats. :goat:

And as for language documentation, I feel like there’s next to no consideration of accessibility in our work. It matters a lot: consider how many speakers of endangered languages are vision- or hearing-impaired.

Am I wrong?
