Dear lazyweb… how would you cite a quotation from a podcast?
(I want to quote some words of wisdom from the most recent Fieldnotes Podcast in a talk!)
Dear lazyweb… how would you cite a quotation from a podcast?
(I want to quote some words of wisdom from the most recent Fieldnotes Podcast in a talk!)
I’ve cited a couple snippets from the Fieldnotes Podcast in a talk of mine this way:
Tsutsui-Billins, Martha, and Vera Ferreira. 2019. Episode 2: Vera Ferreira on Linguistic
Fieldwork in Europe. Field Notes podcast.
[https://fieldnotespod.com/2019/05/14/ep-2-vera-ferreira-on-linguistic-fieldwork-in-europe/]
Tsutsui-Billins, Martha, and Lyle Campbell. 2019. Episode 3: Lyle Campbell on Language
Documentation in the Americas. [Ep 3: Lyle Campbell on Language Documentation in the Americas – Field Notes]
Thanks @Andrew_Harvey, very helpful!
I presume that the second reference to the URL
is meant to be literal, right? Gets confusing because discourse (this forum’s software) is trying a little too hard to help, and is fetching the title and inserting it (er, once out of two times? ).
Anyways, I read this to mean:
<host-family-name>, <host-given-name>, and <guest-full-name>.
<year>.
<episode-number>: <episode-title>. <podcast-title> podcast.
<episode-url>
FWIW, you can use `<>` to tell discourse not to do fancy stuff with URLs:
