Welcome (back) to the Langdoc Forum!

About four years ago, Pat Hall made a site called the Docling Forum and inaugurated what would become a vibrant community for people interested in language documentation, language technologies, and their intersection.

Pat has since passed the baton to us, and we are reviving the forum as the Langdoc Forum. We want to continue fostering the kind of community Pat envisioned where language technologists, documentary linguists, language community members, and others can meet and learn from one another. We believe an online community like this is especially important in light of how many believe in the importance of creating opportunities for people from these different backgrounds to get to know one another (see e.g. Flavelle and Lacher, 2023).

If you are returning to this forum, then welcome back, and if you are new, then welcome! Please consider introducing yourself. We, the Langdoc Forum admins (me, @fauxneticien, and @SarahRMoeller), hope you’ll find this forum valuable.
